The red pepper PEPPER RED ESPELETTE FRANCE 30gr comes from the Gorria pepper variety, which belongs to the Capsicum annuum species and has been cultivated in the Basque region since the 16th century.
The pepper of Espelet was registered, in 2000, as a protected designation of origin (PDO) product. Its pungency is considered moderate, on the same level as black pepper. It has a strong fruity aroma and for this 1-2 spoons, in a pot of 4 people, are enough to make it noticeable.
Its mild flavor and strong aromatic character accentuates the delicate taste of raw or steamed seafood. Enhances lackluster, aromatic and flavorful, colorful peppers. It is used as a tasty counterpoint to pasta or rice dishes. It goes very well with cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and cardamom, creating an amazing blend!
