A portion of whiskey remains in the wood after the barrels are removed. Some of these barrels become Jack Daniels smoking chips.

On gas and charcoal grills, add 2-3 handfuls of Jack Daniel's Whiskey Barrel Smoking Wood to a smoker or heavy-duty aluminum container.
Place the container on the grill over the strongest burner or over the coals until the wood starts to smoke.
Then move it to the edge of the grill to make room for the roasts. Watch for ignition.
Electric smokers include a smoking container.
