1917: Noda Shoyu Co. Ltd. (forerunner of Kikkoman) was founded in Noda through a merger of eight family-owned companies.
1931: The Kansai plant (now the Takasago plant) is completed near Osaka, Japan.
1939: Goyogura is built in Noda to maintain traditional techniques and to continue producing soy sauce for Imperial Household
1940: "Kikkoman" is adapted as a single brand nationwide
1949: The export of soy sauce, which was stopped due to war, resumed
1957: Kikkoman International Inc. was founded in San Francisco for sales and marketing
1962: Katsunuma Yoshu Co., Ltd. (now Manns Wine Co., Ltd.) settled in Japan
1968: Collaborates with Leslie Salt Company in the USA to start local bottling of soy sauce and production of teriyaki sauce
1969: Kikkoman invests in Japan Food Corporation, a trading company and predecessor of JFC International Inc., in San Francisco
