Weber

In 1952 the development of barbecues made a sharp leap, when a stubborn American named George Stephen, the founder of Weber, came to the fore.

Tired of battling the weather and the sparks of fire that resulted from poorly cooked food (tanned and cooked on the outside, raw inside), Stephen used his business planning talent and devised a way to control cooking and at the same time to protect food from the elements of nature.

His revolutionary idea, to put a lid on the outdoor grill, gave birth to the original barbecue pot. This form of baking provided a controlled system. Although its original purpose was not the multiple utility of cooking, Stephen's invention made it possible for slow cooking or quick cooking.

His invention was so successful that he set up a workshop to make barbecue pots for charcoal. Today Weber - Stephen is the most reputable manufacturer of gas and coal grills in America. Located just outside of Chicago, this family-run business is run and run by the twelve children of Marge and George Stephen.

Weber now offers a wide variety of modern and stylish barbecues that offer outdoor chefs the ability to adapt for baking, cooking, smoking and baking at any time of the year.
